What's that sucking sound in New Wilmington?
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.- A humming, sucking sound takes to the streets around New Wilmington this time of year and if you can track down the source you will find it comes from an unusual truck.
Kids in the town call it "Suffy"-- short for the longer nickname Snuffleupagus (a reference to a Sesame Street character). It's really a converted street sweeping truck that now sucks up leaves along borough streets.
The Borough picks up leaves from residents who rake them into the gutter and it's all free of charge-- one of the perks of living in New Wilmington.
Videographers Kylee Bennett, Jonathan McAfoos and Corey Emanuele follow the truck around with WCN 24/7's cameras for a chance to watch the leaf sucking vehicle in aciton.

Campus Chem Experts Consulted for TV Murder Mystery Show on CBS
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.-- Look for Westminster chemistry professor Helen Boylan and 2009 biochemistry graduate Mallory Lichwa on part of Saturday night's telecast of 48 Hours Mysteries at 10 p.m.
The two demonstrate a high-tech laser instrumentation process that's one of the tools being used by forensic experts in a high profile murder case in Florida.
The murder of toddler Caylee Anthony and the pending trial of her mother have grabbed headlines and airtime all over the country. Investigators have claimed the mother concealed the child's corpse in the truck of her car, but can they prove it? 48 Hours Mysteries producers wanted to show how laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS)will help investigators in Florida.
However, a gag order prevents anyone working on the case to discuss even the science behind the forensic science work.
When CBS producers started looking for someone who could show how LIBS works, they found Westminster. It was a result of Lichwa's use of LIBS for her senior research project on the forensics analysis of fingernail polish. She presented that research at a national chemistry conference. 48 Hours discovered her research abstract is online.
A 48 Hours camera crew traveled to campus in September to shoot a demonstration of the cutting edge science faculty and students are engaged in at Westminster.
Neither the defense or prosecution in the notorious murder case have consulted with Westminster's chemistry department, but CBS producers did. Their quest for researchers with a background with LIBS is a chance for the sciences at Westminster to shine if only for a few minutes on network television.

Countdown to Election Day: The D.A.'s Race
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.-- The winner of November's race for Lawrence County District Attorney will take over some high profile criminal cases come next January. The most infamous is the Jordan Brown case-- the 12-year old Lawrence County boy charged as an adult for the murder of his dad's pregnant girlfriend.
One of two men will take charge of that case and many more after the voters go to the polls on November 3. Democrat Joshua Lamancusa defeated current D.A. John Bongivengo in May's primary. Now Lamancusa faces Republican rival George Freed.
Both men are local attorneys with very different backgrounds. Lamancusa comes from a military background where he was a Naval JAG officer and worked extensively as a prosecutor. Freed brings years of experience both as an attorney and time working as an assistant D.A. Freed became an attorney after retiring from law enforcement where he was a seasoned criminal investigator.
Both men join WCN 24/7's Adam Plyler to discuss their experience, their goals for the D.A's office and their take on how they will serve the voters of the county. WCN 24/7 also asks both candidates how they will handle the Jordan Brown case which could go to trial in January.
