A woman who was mauled by a bear in Trinidad Friday evening was banging pots and pans together on her porch in an effort to scare the bear away before the attack, wildlife officials say.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials say a woman is recovering after being injured by a bear outside her home near Trinidad, in southern Colorado.

A woman near Trinidad was injured when she came upon a bear next to her house this afternoon, according to the Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
