Critical fire danger causes flare-ups among active area wildfires
The battle between area firefighters and aggressive wind-driven wildfires continued Thursday as fire danger conditions heightened to critical levels across the South Plains.
Evacuations ordered in Clairemont overnight due to wildfire
In Kent County, flames forced evacuations overnight. A wildfire threatened homes and other structures about 80-miles southeast of Lubbock in Clairemont, and the American Red Cross was called in to assist.
