City council votes to disband police department

No increase in 2010 Mora school taxes

Mora school board members have approved a proposed 2010 taxpayer levy in the amount of $1,643,033. That figure represents a decrease of about 10 percent from the 2009 levy because the amount of the previous voter-approved operating levy which expires this year cannot be included in the district budget at this point.

Former Mora man headed to jail for tax fraud

After pleading guilty back in May to one count of filing a false or fraudulent tax return, former Mora resident Shayne Dalbec learned inside Kanabec County Court last week that he will serve 90 days in jail.
