An Olin man is dead following a crash in Jones County. The Iowa State Patrol says 26-year-old Daniel Soper was driving east on E45 just after 2am Sunday.

An Olin man is dead following an accident Sunday morning. The Iowa State Patrol says Daniel Soper, 26, was driving on County Road E-45 near Morley around 2AM Sunday morning when the vehicle left the road and settled on its side in a nearby field.

A new co-op is preventing some teachers from being laid off from at least one Eastern Iowa district.

One person is injured in a two-vehicle accident in Jones County. The accident happened shortly before four o'clock Friday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 151 and Old Dubuque Road just outside of Anamosa.

Things are returning to normal in Olin after the entire town was evacuated for an anhydrous ammonia leak at the local co-op. According to the Jones County Sheriff's office, the leak happened about 9:30 on Sunday night at the River Valley Co-Op on the south side of town.

Residents of the eastern Iowa town of Olin returned home early Monday after being evacuated for several hours because of a chemical leak.

People in the community of Olin are being told to leave their homes tonight. An anhydrous ammonia leak has caused emergency officials to issue a town-wide evacuation for Olin.

Pumpkin growers from all around the Midwest came to the Anamosa Pumpkinfest on Saturday to have their giant gourds weighed at the Ryan Norlin Memorial Weigh-Off. There were 37 pumpkin entries, totaling 28,898 pounds.
