** Union Station has requested a 5-cent property tax increase, also from the city.

Rains force several roads to close
Recent rain has forced the closing of several roads as of 9:30 this morning.
In Cass County, Route E north of Strasburg is closed, as is Missouri 58 between Missouri 7 and 291.
In Johnson County, Missouri 23 is closed about five miles south of Concordia, as are Routes D and FF, where they intersect near Napoleon and Bates City in Lafayette County. Read more

JOHNSON COUNTY | Rohlf joins art commission
The county has now seated the final member of its Public Art Commission, which will advise the county on its new 1 percent for arts program.
Bob Rohlf of Leawood, president and executive producer of Starlight Theatre, will serve a three-year term. He's a member of the Kansas City Arts Council.
The first Johnson County project that could qualify for art funding is the $17.4 million juvenile services and detention campus in downtown Olathe. Read more
