Mayor Powell is Dist. 4 hopeful

Esto Mayor Danny Powell has formally announced his candidacy for Holmes County Commissioner, District 4. Mayor Powell has resided in the town of Esto since 2001 and has served on the Esto Town Council since 2004.

Property taxes may have remained the same for the past several years, but the value of homestead property is on a steady rise, according to Property Appraiser Otis Corbin, Jr. "This year homestead has increased by one and a half percent," said Corbin.
