Child rapist sentenced to three life terms in prison

Rusty Lee Marett, 32, has been assessed three life sentences by Visting State Judge Frank Carmona for sexually abusing three children under the age of 14.

Judge OKs sale of plant to Kansas firm

A federal bankruptcy judge in Lubbock Thursday approved the sale of the Levelland Hockley County Ethanol facility to a subsidiary of Liberal, Kans.-based Conestoga Energy Partners.

Severe Thunderstorm watch until 3 a.m.

A flood advisory was issued for parts of Lubbock, Hockley, Terry, Lynn, Garza and Crosby Countiues until 12:30 a.m. A second storm sytem moving southeast across Hockley County likely will produce an inch or more of rainfall in the next hour.
