Newnan man killed Sunday in same pond where woman died last week
A Coweta County man died early Sunday when his car ran off a Newnan road and into the same retention pond where a woman died in a similar incident just six days earlier.

Jobless rate declines in LaGrange, Troup County
LaGrange's unemployment rate dropped from a revised 14.7 percent in September to a preliminary 13.7 percent in October, according to the Georgia Department of Labor.
Bacteria levels at West Point Lake back to normal
Fecal coliform bacteria levels in West Point Lake have dropped back to normal. Joe Maltese, a retired city employee who still consults for LaGrange and helps collect lake samples, said samples done Friday showed the bacteria counts were back below state water quality standards.
