Hamakua Sugar didn’t pay land taxes because they are not the owners of the land. The sugar companies adversely used the Hamakua Coast taking lands that was never theirs. The county has inherited stolen land and is looking for a way to profit from the collusion that continues to exist in the illegal seizure of Hawaiian land. You pro-sovereignty groups need to get of your head out form your okole and really “do your homework” as your mantra goes and get real with the real issues. If Hawaiians are waiting for some institution or state agency to help- wake up! Nobody is going to give you kukai. E ku’e lolo!
