West Virginia's House of Delegates elected Tim Miley as its new speaker Tuesday - but only after one of his fellow Democrats crossed party lines to vote for the GOP nominee.

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin issued a proclamation Monday, calling the members of the House of Delegates into special session to name a new speaker.

Judiciary Committee Chairman Tim Miley became the Democrats' expected nominee for speaker in West Virginia's House of Delegates on Friday, after fellow contender and Finance Committee Chairman Harry Keith White endorsed the Harrison County lawyer.
