50k grant to help Cherokee fight cancer in Hamblen County

The American Cancer Society announced the grant Tuesday. It will fund cancer awareness, education and screening for colorectal cancer to people in Hamblen County.

Two die in crash with tractor-trailer in Hamblen County

Horan J. Morales, 29, and Elizabeth Velascobautista, 32, both of Morristown, were inside a stalled 2005 Dodge Neon on I-81 North near mile marker 15 around 5:15 a.m. when a 2002 Peterbilt tractor-trailer crashed into the Neon's driver side door, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
