Grand jurors indict McConnell inmates for assault, weapons

Seven inmates who are or were assigned to the William G. McConnell Unit of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice face additional prison time if they are convicted of crimes allegedly committed inside the prison.

Former Texas Farm Bureau President Dies In Farm Accident

S. M. True, Jr., 88, of Plainview, who served as president of the Waco-based Texas Farm Bureau from 1982 to 1993, died Tuesday in an accident on his farm in Hale County.
