A Milbank man has died in a crash in Grant County. The Highway Patrol says 45-year-old Michael Pavin was driving a sport utility vehicle that went off a county road on a curve, went through a ditch and into a creek.

A Milbank man died in a rollover accident in Grant County on Tuesday two miles west of Milbank.

Game, Fish and Parks conservation officer Jamie Pekelder of Milbank has been named the 2009 Wildlife Officer of the Year in South Dakota by Shikar-Safari Club International.

Residents of the northeastern South Dakota town of Big Stone City who were evacuated after an anhydrous ammonia leak have returned to their homes.

Developers have announced that Big Stone II, a 1.6 billion dollar coal plant scheduled to go up near Milbank, South Dakota will not be built.

Roderick Royal Collison, age 85, formerly of Dundas, died Saturday, June 13, 2009, at the Wadena Hospital, having succumbed to the afflictions of his cancer.
