Earthquake recorded in Sandhills
It was centered about 18 miles northwest of Hyannis. Some people in Grant County say they felt and were woken up by the quake.
Local officials aren't reporting any injuries or property damage.
The U.S. Geological Survey says a magnitude 3.6 earthquake happened at 11:21 p.m. Wednesday.
Grant County, Neb., is now livestock-friendly
Grant County is Nebraska's newest livestock-friendly county. Gov. Dave Heineman said Monday that Grant County earned the designation by committing to rural economic development and agribusiness.
