Deptford car crash involving municipal vehicle leaves 1 dead

The crash occurred at 12:47 p.m. According to the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office, the 82-year-old driver of a Nissan Maxima was making an illegal U-turn on Delsea Drive when he collided with a Deptford municipal dump truck that had been driving behind him.

The New Jersey State Board of Agriculture installed three new members on July 23 during its reorganization meeting held in Ewing - Steven B. Wagner of Franklinville representing the horticulture industry, Mitchell Jones of Harmony Township, representing the hay and grain industry, and Roger Kumpel of Southampton, filling an unexpired term.

Failures at every level, from both Conrail and first responders, contributed to a dangerous situation during the Paulsboro train derailment and chemical spill in 2012, but the probable cause of the accident was a train being allowed to proceed past a red signal that morning, the National Transportation Safety Board determined Tuesday.
