New members appointed to Penrose Park and Recreation District

The Fremont County Board of Commissioners appointed five people Tuesday to the Penrose Park and Recreation District Board of Directors after concerned Penrose citizens learned the previous board wasn't duly elected. "The resolution appoints the five members to a term of six months or until midnight, March 15, 2015, with the obligation to conduct an election by then to elect a permanent board," the email states.

Fremont County Sheriff's Office: Man arrested for burglary on warrant from Oklahoma

A male party reported parties involved in a verbal disturbance. Deputies responded and arrested Thomas Montoya , 53, for driving under revocation and a warrant for failure to appear.

Decision on kidnapping charges pending in Casey Myers' case

Fremont County District Court is waiting on the Colorado Court of Appeals to make a decision on whether or not kidnapping charges will be reinstated for a 34-year-old Penrose man. In January, Deputy District Attorney Stacey Turner told the court she filed an appeal to reinstate those charges against Casey Myers because District Judge Patrick Murphy dismissed them.

Justin Davenport's status conference set

Justin Davenport, 30, hometown unknown, formally was charged Wednesday with vehicular eluding, a class 5 felony; two counts of resisting arrest, a class 2 misdemeanor; attempting to elude a peace officer and reckless driving. About 10:30 p.m. Aug. 25, the FBI and CBI informed the Fremont County Sheriff's Office that a vehicle containing two possible Montrose County bank robbery suspects was located in the Lincoln Park area, according to a FCSO press release.
