Fourth of July fireworks fundraiser slated for June 1
The Albert Lea-Freeborn County Chamber of Commerce and KATE\KCPI radio are holding their annual Fireworks fundraiser on June 1 beginning at 6 a.m. Chamber staff, KATE staff and volunteers will be standing on the corner of Broadway and Main collecting donations for the 4th of July fireworks display.
According to police, an unattended fire was reported east of 29557 Minnesota Highway 13 at 4:05 p.m. A fire was also reported at 83638 330th St., east of Geneva, at 5:47 p.m. Three ditch fires were reported at 6:39 a.m. today east of Geneva on Freeborn County Road 28, south of Freeborn County Road 35.
