Idyll hours

Getting there: Lanesboro is 125 miles south of the Twin Cities, mostly on Hwy. 52 through Rochester, with the final 9 miles along Fillmore County Road 8. Where to stay: The town and its environs are awash in B&Bs . I had a wonderful stay at the Belle Rive , on the top floor of a house abutting the Root River.
