Prairieland, hauler make deal

The Prairieland board of directors has approved a deal with Waste Management, requiring the garbage hauler to pay Prairieland $100,000 and provide a year of disposal services for the facility at no charge.

Conklin enters innocent plea

Conklin, 47, being held in the Faribault County Jail, is facing three felony counts and a misdemeanor charge stemming from a Feb. 6 incident, in which he is accused of trying to strangle and stab a woman after drinking beer.
