Commission OKs First New Nuclear Reactors Since 1970s

For the first time since the Three Mile Island meltdown in 1979, the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission granted a license for new reactor construction Thursday, signaling that America is ready to move forward with nuclear energy after the Fukushima meltdown in Japan last year.

Breakdown of SCE&G Tax Dollars

Fairfield County Treasurer Norma Branham has made available the 2012 distribution of the tax revenue recently paid to the County by SCE&G. Last week, SCE&G paid their tax bill of $22,943,838.81. According to figures released by the Treasurer's Office, that amount is more than one half of the County's total tax revenue.
