12 indicted on drug trafficking charges in the River Region

Montgomery, Alabama -- A dozen residents of Elmore and Montgomery counties have been indicted on charges of conspiracy to distribute cocaine and crack cocaine powder, according to federal prosecutors.

Metro briefs: Student caught with weapon at school

A Wetumpka Middle School student was taken into custody Wednesday morning. Deputy Chief Anthony Crenshaw of the Wetumpka Police Department said the seventh-grade student was found with a handgun on campus.
