Jamey Herd has not been having a good couple of weeks and running to the doctor every week is no fun.

Douglas County residents will be able to bring their personal documents, tax records, financial reports, old love letters - anything on paper! - to the Douglas County Courthouse on Saturday morning, May 18, for "The Great Douglas County Shredding Event," sponsored by the Douglas County Board of Commissioners and Wells Fargo Bank .

The trek by 24-year-old Ryan Chalmers, who is scheduled to be in Kansas City on Tuesday, aims to inspire people with disabilities and raise money for charity.
