Composting Could Resume At Dorchester Site
The Dorchester County Council has voted to move ahead with a proposal to resume composting of organic waste at the Beulah Landfill.
The only no vote came Tuesday from councilman Rick Price, who says his constituents are concerned about possible odors and water quality problems. Price says he favors putting organic waste in the landfill.
In 2005, the Maryland Department of the Environment shut down the previous compost operation after investigating complaints about suspected water pollution.
