Lombard man killed by train in DeKalb County

A Lombard man was killed Wednesday after a train mishap. Kevin C. Jablonsky, 21, was struck by an eastbound Union Pacific Train approximately a qurater of a mile east of the Nelson Road crossing, which is west of DeKalb.

Protecting the dead

Pictured is a gravestone in the DeKalb County Cemetery between Small's Furniture City and the strip mall that houses Michael's. DeKalb County historian Phyllis Kelley said the county has used this cemetery for more than 100 years to bury those who had no money or interment plans at the time of their death.
