A Cross County jury has recommended life in prison without the possibility of parole for an Alabama drifter it convicted in the fatal beating of an 80-year-old woman at a rural church in eastern Arkansas.

CROSS COUNTY, Ark. - A jury decides on life without parole for a man accused of beating an 80-year-old woman to death at a church back in 2010.

Jury selection is scheduled to begin Monday in the capital murder trial of a man accused of beating an elderly Hamlin woman to death inside a church in Wynne.

Teachers from Arkansas and California have been named winners of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development's 2012 Outstanding Young Educator Award.
