Fourteen of the 22 elected offices in Decatur County will be on the ballots in 2012, either in the July general primary election or the November general election, said Chief Elections Official Doris White.

Former students of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College will be honored at the annual ABAC Alumni Association awards ceremony as a part of the Celebrate ABAC weekend on March 3 at 11 a.m. at the Georgia Museum of Agriculture and Historic Village on the ABAC campus.

A: Most of Ty Ty has gone bye-bye. There's not much left of the small Tift County town with about 700 people, said Tifton insurance agent Darby Veazey, who grew up in Ty Ty and lives about 1 mile from where she was raised.

Several arrests were made after an investigation led authorities to believe the people involved were selling and smuggling contraband items into prisons and jails in Georgia.
