Man goes to prison for sex with girl

A 24-year-old Montgomery County man who used his MySpace pop singer persona to meet and have sex with a 15-year-old girl last year was sentenced Monday to at least two years in state prison.

Christopher Leasher of Upper Providence Township was sentenced by Bucks County Judge Jeffrey Finley to two to six years in prison for statutory sexual assault and providing drugs to a minor.

Leasher, who called himself ''Christopher Jive'' and used a screen name of ''ChicksDigSkinny'' on AOL messenger, referred to young fans such as his victim as ''teenyboppers.'' Read more

Thats just wrong.
But here's my question- for discussion purposes- with all we know about internet predators and Dateline's, "to catch a predator", and so on and so forth- How are theses guys still getting these dumb kids?

"The state Sex Offender Assessment Board determined Leasher not to be a sexually violent predator."

Are you kidding me? He sought out a 15 y/o child to sleep with. The man is 24 y/o and knows what he did is wrong. but he did it anyway to get his jollies off. Doesn't that make him sexually violent? Going out of your way to meet a minor on-line knowing full well what you are going to do her. If i am wrong in thinking that he is sexually violent somebody please explain?

He's only 24. It's not like he is 35 or 40. I disagree with this. I think the age of consent should be up for review. I totally support men in their twenties pursuing romantic interludes with teenagers. I also advocate men in their 30's dating 18 and 19 year olds. Im 40 and have little interest in anybody over 27.

well,"radical moderate"...stay away from my daughters. it sounds to me that you aren't much better than this guy. It's illegal!! End of story!! My guess is that you don't have daughters of your own (probably because of your perverted views)and that's why you don't understand this law.

He was preying on a young, dumb, inexperienced underager. He is most definately a sexual predator. Unless he brutally raped her I don't consider him violent. That said, I think all child molesters and pedophiles should fry. Rid society of this trash so our children can grow up safely and enjoy their childhoods.

So this guy knowingly went after a young girl, gave her drugs, and had sex with her; and people are asking that we feel sorry for him - may I ask why? He knew EXACTLY what he was doing. I doubt seriously he's sorry for what occurred, he's just sorry he got caught.

so im guessing the girl was forced to go t k-mart and kidnapped to Philly where she broke free and hitchhiked back home? I mean, she seemed fine with it. Its a shame that children now in days look grown-up. And her parents, where were they when she was not home over night? I need more info on this story!!

and please tell me why the neighbors wouldn't be given notice if he moves into their neighborhood ?? WHO are we protecting here ? Certainly not innocent little girls. That is just plain WRONG. He wasn't, after all, a "kid". My grandson is adopted also and truly loves and appreciates his life. What in the world is wrong with his mother making excuses for him. She sounds like more of the problem than the solution. A Mommy's Boy will NEVER grow up.

Either you're a flamer or a perv***. FYI, a flamer is someone who goes to a discussion board, shoots a flaming remark, and sit back and watch the responses.

I would have to guess that you either lack the intellect to relate to a woman your own age or your a pervert.

If he did it once he is capable of doing it again and for the Sex Offender Assessment Board not to deem him as a sexually violent predator is absurd! He drugged her and took advantage of her and your treating him like a victim here?? There is something really wrong with the U.S. justice system here.

Who cares if he tried to commit suicide. If I was the father of that girl that would be the least of this dirtbags worries.

Exactly that!! Because they are dumb kids..Young girls are stupid and fall for the empty promises.. Is it just me or was there no mention of her parents?? Where were they when she went off to meet this guy?? Did'nt they notice she never came home that night?? No attention at home will make them go seek it elsewhere..
Again a good example as to why parents should always monitor their kids while on the internet!!!

MySpace is like any other form of communication. Its fun for the kids, but as parents, you need to watch it closely. There are privacy controls that make kids unable to communicate with anyone they don't know.
