AARP awards Briscoe County woman for food bank work

Kay Calvert, who runs a food pantry in Quitaque in Briscoe County, is one of seven volunteers in the nation and the only one from Texas to win AARP's Win and Do Good, a contest recognizing volunteers who help seniors.

Motorcyclist dies 4 days after wreck

A 60-year-old man died in a Lubbock hospital Wednesday, four days after being involved in a single-vehicle motorcycle accident in Briscoe County, the Department of Public Safety said.
