Former volunteer firefighter sentenced to 10 years prison
A former volunteer firefighter who set a fire northwest of Boise last summer that destroyed a home, threatened about 100 others and cost $2.3 million to fight has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Otter names St. Maries attorney to 1st District court bench
Gov. Butch Otter has appointed St. Maries attorney Richard S. Christensen to be a 1st District judge, filling a vacancy that will open May 1 when current 1st District Judge John Luster retires.
