Man found shot near Carney
A man was shot and wounded early this morning as he was changing a car tire near an apartment complex on a quiet dead-end street near Carney, Baltimore County police said.
The shooting was reported shortly before 6 a.m. on Shawnee Court. Police investigators determined that a 27-year-old man was changing a tire when someone walked up to him and attempted to fire a handgun, but the weapon malfunctioned, a county police spokesman said.
As the man ran away, the suspect was able to fire the gun and a bullet struck the victim in the back, according to police spokesman Cpl. Michael Hill.
