The family on my father's side came to our shores nearly 100 years before the Revolution, settling near Marblehead Massachusetts,fought in both the AR and the War of 1812 and then started to work their way north into what was at that time part of Massachusetts and of course now the State of Maine.

Maine wardens find lost teens in Aroostook County, fisherman in Casco

One of the searches was conducted in Deboullie Township in northwestern Aroostook County, where two Gorham teenagers took the wrong trail back to their campsite and wound up in a remote and rugged area, Emily Maccabe of the the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife said Thursday in a news release.

Police track down Merrill man accused of meth trafficking

A Merrill man was taken into custody on Tuesday evening several days after the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency worked to dismantle a suspected methamphetamine lab at a home he was renting at 233 Clark Road, which is about 20 miles west of Houlton in Aroostook County.

Aroostook County grand jury indicts man on murder charge in girlfriend's death

Jesse Marquis, the 38-year-old St. Francis man accused of killing his longtime girlfriend earlier this summer, has been indicted by the Aroostook County Grand Jury on a charge of murder in the death of Amy Theriault.
