Hancher selects Spot community

In keeping with its commitment to serve people throughout the state of Iowa, Hancher has selected Corning as the 2010 community for the sixth edition of 'Spot-The Hancher Family Arts Adventure.' In May 2010, master storyteller, mask-maker and mime Michael Cooper will engage families in Corning with collaborative workshops and a public performance.

Corning, Ia. - A pilot was killed Sunday morning when a single-engine plane crashed in Adams County, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

Pilot in fatal Adams County crash identified

The pilot killed when his plane crashed in Adams County over the weekend has been identified as James Edward Pankratz, 60, of southern California, according to the county sheriff's office.

1 dead in plane crash in SW Iowa

Authorities are investigating a deadly plane crash in southwest Iowa. The Federal Aviation Administration says a pilot was killed Sunday morning when the single-engine plane went down in a pasture about 8 miles east of Corning in Adams County.
