Tractor-Trailer Rollover Blocked I-91 In Wethersfield
A tractor-trailer rollover early this morning that closed I-91 south near Exit 25N occurred as the driver sipped on a cold beverage, state police said.
No one was injured in the crash ten minutes after midnight, state police said. But the tractor-trailer blocked all southbound lanes of the highway, state police said.
The driver, Edward Bradt, 42, was having a cold beverage when the vehicle veered off the road and struck the Exit 25N sign head-on, state police said.
He tried gaining control by steering toward the left, but struck a pole off the shoulder, state police said.
The vehicle then went over a wire guardrail, rolled over on its passenger side and slid about 75 yards on the roadway before coming to rest across the southbound lanes, police said.
