Police Investigate Fatal Crash In Hamden

Police continue to investigate a crash Saturday afternoon, where a 50-year-old driver was killed. Police said the driver, a North Haven resident whose name was not released, left a driveway on Taft Street, drove across the lawn of the Blessed Sacrament Church, and hit shrubs, a fence and finally a street light pole. The crash was at the corner of Circular Avenue and Church Street at about 2:47 p.m.

Police said the man, who was alone in the car, was found unresponsive when they arrived. He was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call the Hamden Police Department at (203) 230-4030.
