Saks Fifth Avenue store to close at the Galleria Mall
Saks Inc. today announced plans to close its Saks Fifth Avenue store at the Galleria Mall in Fort Lauderdale.
The 73,000 square foot store is expected to close on July 20, Saks spokeswoman Julia Bentley said. Sixty-one employees will be laid off, though all will be offered transfer opportunities or will receive severance packages, she said.
'The store did not meet the profitability standards of our company,' Bentley said.
