SOCORRO, New Mexico (STPNS) -- Gary Alexander Romero, 27, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2008, in Socorro, N.M. He was born Aug. 8, 1980, in Albuquerque, N.M., to Gregory D. and Mary Rose (Baca) Romero.
Gary is survived by his mother, Mary Rose Gurule of Socorro; wife, Lucy M. Zamora of Socorro; daughter, Mariah Zamora of Socorro; step-mother, Alicia Romero of Belen, N.M.; brother, Greg Romero of Socorro; step-brothers: Richard Montoya and Ronnie Lynn, both of Belen; and David Lynn of Socorro; sister, Mary Otero of Socorro; step-sister, Antionette Lynn of Belen; grandparents: Rafael Baca of Socorro; and Eva and Steve Romero of Albuquerque.
A rosary was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at San Miguel Catholic Church in Socorro. Funeral mass was celebrated immediately following with Father Andy Pavlak as celebrant.
Burial was in the San Miguel Cemetery. Pallbearers were Greg Romero, Richard Montoya, David Lynn, Ronnie Lynn, Edwin Armijo and Chris Benavidez.
Honorary pallbearers were Lino Baca Jr., Charles Gallegos, Robert Saiz Jr., Ralph Baca, James Vaughn, Ricky Sarracino Jr., Edwin Armijo Jr., Josh Baca and Gilbert Baca Jr. Arrangements by Steadman-Hall Funeral Home, Socorro.
