Patricia R Taylor
MOSCOW, Idaho (STPNS) -- Patricia Ruth Logan Taylor was born in Rockland, Idaho, to parents Hugh and Delpha (Harris) Logan. She lived there through high school and worked at the Pocatello Air Base during World War II. She went on to attend Idaho State University to become a school teacher, then married Roy E. Taylor in November 1949, and farmed in American Falls, Idaho.
In 1968 they moved with their two children to Moscow, where she went on to earn her bachelor's and master's degrees in education and taught at the Moscow Junior High until she retired in 1988. In retirement she continued her love of teaching by leading classes at her church and teaching English as a second language.
Other great joys for her were playing bridge and teaching others to play the game, as well as entertaining in her home. Some of her most cherished memories include an archaeological trip to Israel and educational trips to Europe and Russia.
She was very supportive of several Christian outreach and missionary organizations. Her chief desire was that individuals would know that they could have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and know hope and purpose in him.
She is survived by her two children, Nancy (Don) Shrope of Pullman, and Kevin (Marcy) Taylor of Pasco. She was a very proud, loving grandmother to Kelli (Dan) Campbell, Susan (Shane) Young, Melissa Shrope (Chris Muehling), Sara Taylor and Joseph Taylor; as well as three great-grandchildren, David, Daniel and Alexis.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Keith Logan.
Her service was Saturday, June 21, at Bridge Bible Fellowship, 960 W. Palouse River Drive in Moscow. A private family interment preceded the service at the Viola cemetery under the direction of Short's Funeral Chapel, Moscow.
In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions can be given to Hospice of Tri-Cities, (509) 783-7650; or Bridge Bible Fellowship (208) 882-0674.
