BERNICE, Louisiana (STPNS) -- Sonya was born in El Dorado, AR. to Alfred and Annette Cates. Her grandparents were Harmon (Cotton) and Ruby I. Groves. They all lived in the Mt. Union, Faircrest Community.
Sonya graduated from Junction City High School in 1979. She has three sisters and her brother passed away last June, which was a tremendous loss for her.
She moved to Louisiana in 1986 and is married to Timothy Ott, and together they have six children who are all grown and they have one grandson, and twin grand babies due in April.
Sonya is excited to be in Bernice because as she stated she feels like she is back home. Most of her family still lives in this area and she loves being close to them. Sonya and Tim are planning on relocating in the area and they both look forward to meeting and getting to know the great people of Bernice and the surrounding towns.
Sonya invites you to come by the Bernice Nursing and Rehab and visit with her, the residents and staff. We invite all of the community to visit our home and she plans on hosting several community events.
