- The Posey Company, a leader in the design and manufacture of innovative and reliable patient safety solutions, today officially announced the availability of the Posey StaySafe Bed, Model 8080, for European markets. The bed has been designed for sale in Holland, France, and Germany; sales to additional European country markets will follow. Posey makes the announcement in advance of its participation next week at MEDICA, the world's largest medical trade fair, in Dusseldorf, Germany.
Presently in its 40th year, MEDICA meets annually to connect thought and practice leaders in the medical industry, from patient caregivers to solution providers. From November 18-21, 2009, MEDICA expects to host thousands of exhibitors and more than 100,000 attendees from nearly 100 countries. MEDICA Congress, a leading European medical education event, will run strategically alongside MEDICA.
Of growing importance around the globe is the development of protocols and products to ensure in-hospital patient safety. For patients who are disoriented or debilitated, the Posey StaySafe Bed offers a secure, reliable, and managed environment for both the patient and caregiver. A less-restrictive option for patients at risk of injury due to a fall or unassisted bed exit, the complete bed system includes an electric bed, frame, mattress, and canopy that zips around the area and yet does not inhibit patient in-bed movement or caregiver access.
Mark Beran, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing of the Posey Company, said "The Posey StaySafe Bed delivers peace of mind to both the patient and the caregiver. The combined ability to access a patient easily, allow a patient relative freedom of movement, and yet also better assure patient safety from injury, makes the StaySafe Bed an industry-leading offering and we are proud to announce its availability in Europe."
Benedikt Hupkes, Sales Manager, KREWI Medical Products, a Posey partner in Germany, said, "The European medical community has demonstrated a clear need for a viable, quality patient-injury solution such as the Posey StaySafe Bed. With Model 8080, such a highly functional and reliable product now is readily available to German, Dutch, and French hospitals and long-term care providers. We look forward to placing the bed into service immediately."
Ernie Posey, CEO and President of the Posey Company, said, "Posey products effectively integrate patient care with flexibility. The company was founded on the premise that simple, comprehensive solutions such as the Posey StaySafe Bed can work to help reverse negative patient injury trends around the world - and they do."
The Posey Company will be exhibiting at MEDICA. On display will be an array of Posey Company patient safety solutions, including the Posey StaySafe Bed. More information on MEDICA is available at www.medica.de.
