- Patrick Henry, owner of hospitality marketing company Patrick Henry Creative Promotions, Inc. (www.phcp.com), will share his insights on how to run a successful company in any economy, as well as his unique ways of giving back to others, on Houston's new documentary-style show PROFILE with Greg Scheinman. The show airs Thursdays at 10:30 p.m. CST on Houston's PBS Channel 8, beginning July 9, with rebroadcasts of each show airing on Sundays at 2 p.m. Mr. Henry's segment will air later this summer.
'When I meet people for the first time, I want them to feel good about our meeting,' said Henry. 'I genuinely feel that every person has something special to offer.'
Something special Henry has created is his company, Patrick Henry Creative Promotions, which was ranked in 2008 among small businesses as the 'Best Company to Work for in Texas' as published in TEXAS MONTHLY magazine. In addition to benefits, fun perks his employees receive include free monthly car washes, a paid day off on birthdays, gas gift cards, a paid day off for volunteer work, a casual dress code, an early office closing on Fridays and an all-expense-paid annual company trip.
'We created our own stimulus package by giving each employee a 3 percent raise and $200 cash in January. Our team works hard and now, more than ever, needs to know how much they are appreciated,' said Henry.
Henry's patriotism goes beyond his name. Everything from his business cards to thank-you cards and shipping boxes is printed in red, white and blue. Along with his patriotism comes his generosity. Examples include providing free monthly lunches for residents at Greatwood Retirement Center, giving away his house to a homeless family, donating thousands of dollars to replace the leaky roof of an underprivileged grandmother's house and hosting an annual holiday party for the disabled residents of the Richmond State School.
In addition to his passion for the hospitality industry, Patrick loves trains. He owns two beautifully restored private rail cars that were built in the 1950s. The Warren R. Henry dome lounge car, named after his father, and the Evelyn Henry sleeper car, named after his 92-year-old mother, can be chartered for all-inclusive trips across North America. The private rail cars travel anywhere Amtrak goes, and each trip includes a chef, a steward and fantastic views of the country's landscape.
'My life is enriched by everyone I've met and the people I work with every day. It's my dream to share the secrets of my success with anyone who may benefit from them,' said Henry.
