This 1-hour audio mix, with urban sound effects, presents a fast-paced, street-level view of New York City in all its variety from a foot messenger whose daily experience may take him through all five boroughs of Manhattan in a single day.

As Kurt says in his Preface, 'Every day is an adventure.' These short poems take you on a journey that can be appreciated by workers and professionals of all kinds. Kurt is attuned not only to the major advertising campaigns with celebrity endorsements that bombard the city daily, not only the news headlines he may see as he waits in line at the bank, but also the children in strollers in their Baby Jordan sneakers and the woman he remembers from times past but who had to go her own way. He shouts out to his bicycle and van messenger colleagues in sections like 'Monster Track' and 'Alleycats,' and notes the days when he must carry on through rain, sleet, and snow to make a delivery despite 'Messenger Fatigue.' He visits lawyers, television production offices, and Fashion Avenue addresses. They all appear in his poems, as well as aspects of his own industry, such 'The Dispatcher,' 'The Owner,' and 'Zone Charges.'
