Padget Stoudemayer
SALUDA -- Manchester Padget Stoudemayer, 85, of 282 Richland Creek Road, died Sunday, April 6, 2008, in Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Home.
Born in Saluda County, a son of the late Bunyan Augustus and Daisy Koon Stoudemayer, he was the husband of Hilda Rodgers Stoudemayer. Mr. Stoudemayer was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He had retired as the owner of Stoudemayer Farms. He was a charter member of the Richland Creek Ruritan Club, a Mason and a former member of American Legion Post #65. Mr. Stoudemayer was a lifetime member of Good Hope Lutheran Church where he was a former council member, Sunday school superintendent and choir member. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be sorely missed.
Surviving are his wife of sixty years, Hilda Rodgers Stoudemayer of the home, a son and daughter in-law, Steven and Karen Stoudemayer of Saluda, a daughter and son in-law, Wendy Stoudemayer and Andy Barger of Andover, KS, seven grandchildren, Wendy Renee Infinger of Columbia, Daisy and Nick Engle of Andover, Mary Alice and McMurphy Barger of Andover, Derek Stoudemayer, Mathew Stoudemayer and Cory Stoudemayer, all of Saluda, and two stepgrandchildren, Wyllie Neel of Columbia and Althea Carr Neel of Boston, MA.
A daughter, Virgil Stoudemayer Neel, preceded Mr. Stoudemayer in death.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 Wednesday evening at Ramey Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2008, at Good Hope Lutheran Church with Pastor William Neuman officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
