Pearl River Community College athletic director Richard Mathis announced that head women's basketball coach Ed Walley resigned his position Tuesday after coaching the Lady Wildcats for the last eight seasons.

Walley submitted his letter of resignation late Tuesday.

His 2002-2003 squad won the Region 23 championship and a berth in the NJCAA National Tournament held in Salina, Kansas. Walley was named the Region 23 Coach of the Year that season. His regional title team finished the season with an impressive 25-5 record.

Walley's career record at Pearl River is 115-94 and he won over 75 percent of his games in 31 years as a high school coach.
