Harold D. Gantt
LEESVILLE -- Harold D. Gantt, 64, husband of Elaine Fallaw Gantt, died Friday, March 21, 2008, at home.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2008, at Providence Baptist Church with internment in Providence Church Cemetery with the Rev. Frank Mims officiating. Pallbearers will be Jack Bell, Dick Dickert, C.L. Gantt, B. Ray Hayes, Larry Miller, Robert Shealy, Gary Swinford and Ricky Umbarger. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp #412.
Mr. Gantt was born in Aiken, SC, the son of the late Willie Max and Lucille 'Boots' Bonnett Gantt. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church and Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp #412. Harold loved to travel to the beach and the mountains with family and friends.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Elaine Gantt of Leesville; two sons and daughter-in-law, David Gantt of Batesburg, John and Mary Gantt of Leesville; one brother, Willie (Peggy) Gantt of Salley; two sisters, Joyce (Gary) Morrison of Leesville, and Gloria Claxton of Gloverville. He was predeceased by two brothers, Willie Max Gantt, Jr. and Roy Gantt.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 23, 2008, from 6-8 p.m. at Milton Shealy Funeral Home in Batesburg and other times at the residence. Memorials may be made to Providence Baptist Church, 3708 Pond Branch Road, Leesville, SC 29070 or Palmetto Health Richland Hospice, P.O. Box 7275, Columbia, SC 29202.
As a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, he will be deeply missed by all.
