Arrest made in robbery, kidnapping of student
University of Kentucky Police have arrested a man in the March 24 robbery and kidnapping of a Bluegrass Community and Technical College student at the Greg Page Apartments.
Charles Earl Mason Jr., 21, formerly of Radcliff and now a Lexington resident, was arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree robbery and kidnapping. He was arrested by UK police at 12:15 a.m. at the UK Police Department and was taken to the Fayette County Detention Center.
On Monday, UK Police received a report that two men entered the apartment armed with a knife and miniature baseball bat. The robbers took cash and laptop computers and then forced the victim to drive them to a local bank and withdraw additional money.
UK Police are seeking a second suspect in the case, Roderick Andre Reese, 20, originally from Radcliff. Officers have a warrant to arrest Reese and charge him with first-degree robbery and kidnapping.
UK Police have reason to think that Reese might have left the Lexington area. UK Police ask that anyone who knows where Reese is contact the them at (859) 257-1616 or their local law enforcement agency.
