1 dead, 2 wounded in Monroe shooting

One person is dead and two others have been taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds, said Monroe Police Chief Debra Duncan.

About 4:30 p.m. today police responded to a call about a shooting on Oglethorpe Lane in the Savannah Way subdivision in northwest Monroe. The subdivision is located off Fowler Secrest Road.

Details aren't known. Law enforcement officials are at the scene.
