Garda creates international advisory board for global risks group
- Garda World Security Corp. (TSX:GW) has appointed former U.S. ambassador Derek Burney to a new international advisory board for global risks group.
The five-member panel includes experienced political, military, business and energy leaders from Canada, Britain and the United States.
The other panel members are: U.S. General George Joulwan (Ret.), NATO's former Supreme Allied Commander Europe; Candax Energy chairman Adrian Loader; Sir Richard Mottram, former permanent secretary of Britain's civil service; and Derek Pannell, managing partner of Brookfield Asset Management Ltd. (TSX:BAM.A).
Garda said the new advisory board will provide strategic counsel and industry expertise regarding the company's relationships with Fortune 500 clients, government agencies and oil, gas and mining industries.
"With their wise and expert counsel, we enhance our ability to provide some of the world's largest corporations including oil, gas and mining companies with the consulting, investigative and security services they need for successful market entry and ongoing operations in high-growth regions around the world," Garda chief executive Stephan Cretier said in a news release.
Garda's global risks group provides consulting, investigation and services to government and business clients in more than 140 countries, including military hot spots such as Iraq.
Montreal-based Garda is the fifth largest integrated physical security and cash handling firm in the world. It employs about 50,000 people.
