Westar Energy posted its quarterly earnings results on Wednesday. The company reported $0.40 earnings per share for the quarter, beating the consensus estimate of $0.31 by $0.09, StockRatingsNetwork reports.

Westar Energy updated its FY13 earnings guidance on Wednesday. The company provided EPS guidance of $2.00-2.15 for the period, compared to the Thomson Reuters consensus EPS estimate of $2.11, AnalystRatingsNetwork.com reports.
