Photo gallery: Macy's Thanksgiving parade practice in East Rutherford and Hoboken

All eyes will be on Manhattan during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, which many consider to be the opening salvo for the holiday season. A practice session Saturday in East Rutherford, and one held on May 31 in Hoboken, saw balloon handlers donning white gloves, doing calisthenics and marching with practice balloons in preparation for Turkey Day.

Steven's Ranked 76th Best University in the Nation: US News & World Report

Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken has made U.S. News & World Report's ranking of the nation's top universities in the country, coming in at number 76. There were more than 200 universities on the list, which included five other New Jersey schools. According to U.S. News & World Report, the 200 universities who made the list all offer a wide variety of undergraduate majors, master's and doctoral programs.

Princeton tops list of nation's best colleges; Rutgers, Stevens make top 100

New Brunswick and Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken were the only other two New Jersey colleges to crack the top 100 in U.S. News & World Reports' national university rankings . Other New Jersey schools on the list include Rutgers University - Newark , Seton Hall University and the New Jersey Institute of Technology .

Wakeman III, research professor in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Ocean Engineering who will hold the position of 2015 President-Elect for two prestigious American Society of Civil Engineers organizations: the Coast, Oceans, Ports and Rivers Institute and the Academy of Coastal, Ocean, Port and Navigation Engineers , which awards engineering certification in these specialty areas of civil engineering. In 2016, he will be the President of the two organizations and represent COPRI and ACOPNE at national and international events.

Hoboken, Jersey City mayors welcome Stevens' largest incoming class

Two Hudson mayors challenged challenged the hundreds of incoming students at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken to be themselves, become part of the larger community and to embrace their next four years. Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer and Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop spoke to 800 new students at 114th annual Stevens convocation Wednesday afternoon.
